1960 Queen Elizabeth II £1 Banknote With Display Box

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in English history, but even her reign had a beginning. Ascending to the throne in 1952, it took some time for the country to adjust to its new, young monarch. In fact, it wasn't until 1960 that the British government released the first ever £1 banknote graced with her image. With the switch to the £1 coin, all £1 banknotes were retired in 1988, meaning no other monarch will ever appear on one. Now, you have a unique opportunity to honour Her Late Majesty with The First Ever Queen Elizabeth II £1 England Banknote Currency, an exclusive presentation from The Bradford Exchange Mint.

Offered in very fine collector's condition, this legal tender 1960 C series banknote was the VERY FIRST to ever be in circulation during Queen Elizabeth II's reign. Designed by famed engraver Robert Austin, a member of the Royal Academy of Art, this unique currency collectible unites two unforgettable symbols of Great Britain. The front boasts a lovely portrait of Her Late Majesty in her Diamond Diadem, while the back is a depiction of Britannia with her shield, a proud symbol of Britain since Roman times. To preserve your Queen Elizabeth II £1 banknote, it arrives secured in a privately enhanced tamper-proof holder. Plus, it includes a deluxe display box with a gleaming title plaque to show off your Royal Family treasure.
